"Jordan Ayew is set to make his debut with the black Stars"
Ghana's Jordan Ayew has been handed a call-up to the Black Stars for their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland on 5 September.
The 18-year old continues a rich family tradition for the Ayews, whose father Abedi captained Ghana's national team.
Abedi Pele's sons Ibrahim and Andre 'Dede' Ayew were part of the Ghana squads that played at the 2010 Nations Cup and World Cup.
"This call-up is a very happy moment in my life," Jordan told BBC Sport.
Their uncle Kwame also played for the national team for over a decade, alongside Abedi.
The Marseille midfielder said he intends to make the most of this chance.
"I did not know it would happen so soon but I am still very happy and determined to make the most of [this opportunity]."
His brother Ibrahim has been dropped for the Swaziland game, as have Sulley Muntari, Derek Boateng and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie - who were all at the World Cup.
Defender John Mensah is also out injured for the qualifier.
